I have been a The Grove at the Lake resident for almost four years. I chose them for my rehabilitation because I live in the area and thought it would be nice, and I am glad I did. The staff has helped me meet my goals physically and mentally. I am now walking without a walker and am progressing every day. I’m reading books, working out, and listening to music, which I never used to do before. My concentration has improved, and I eat the right food and get routine rest. They helped me become a healthier version of myself, which I am very grateful for. Some of my favorite services offered here would be nursing, physical therapy, and social services. The staff genuinely cares and is happy to work there, which makes residents feel welcome.

I have been staying at The Grove at the Lake for rehabilitation after a stroke. After experiencing other healthcare facilities, staying here relieved me because the staff goes out of their way to help me and make me feel like family. The most memorable part of my stay was walking for the first time after my stroke because I was not sure I would be able to again. With their help, I am more confident, able to walk with a walker and use my right arm affected by my stroke. They truly exceeded my expectations and made my stay extra special, especially Narissa, Izhar, Tommy, Christina, Lisa, and Tom. I enjoy their activities like Bingo, movie night, and playing cards. I am close to returning home with my family. I would highly recommend them to anyone for their incredible team and welcoming atmosphere. They really do make it feel like a home away from home.

When I first arrived at The Grove at the Lake, I had a tracheostomy and a PEG tube. Because of their excellent care, I am thrilled to say that I no longer need them, and they have been removed. I feel great and I am thrilled to return home. The nurses and staff are nice and friendly. They motivated me to get better, and I will continue taking my medicine to stay healthy. I want to thank everyone at The Grove, especially Maribel, CNA, for taking excellent care of me.

My journey to The Grove at the Lake started with hospitalization at Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin’s Advocate Hospital. The social workers recommended The Grove, and Stevie from the facility came to see me. Her visit convinced me that The Grove was the right choice for my rehabilitation.

Since arriving, I’ve seen significant improvement in my condition, and the two weeks of therapy have been instrumental in my progress. I’m now transitioning to more on-the-floor therapy. Though not yet ready to swing a golf club, the therapists are encouraged by my progress, which includes overcoming challenges related to previous back surgeries and sciatic nerve pain.

The Grove at the Lake staff has impressed me with their humility and dedication. They handle their tasks gracefully and positively, reminding me of my own experiences managing employees. In addition to the excellent care, the facility has amenities like a wide range of TV channels and social activities like the ice cream social. However, my enjoyment of these has been limited. My experience here has been very positive, and I recommend The Grove at the Lake to others!

Reflecting on my experience at The Grove at the Lake, I feel a deep gratitude and appreciation. After frequent falls at home, I realized the necessity of specialized care. The Grove was a blessing, not just for its medical skills but also for its nurturing environment.

The staff at The Grove at the Lake, especially the activity coordinators and Julie, the administrator, played an instrumental role in my recovery. They helped me emerge from my shell, transforming me into someone more outgoing and engaged. Julie’s open-door policy and the emphasis on recreational activities brought joy and normalcy to my life during a time that could have otherwise been very isolating and challenging.

My improvement wasn’t just physical; The Grove fostered a sense of community and belonging, which was crucial for my emotional and mental health. This, combined with the high level of care from the compassionate nurses and CNAs, made the Grove more than just a rehabilitation center; it was a place of healing in every sense. My journey from a fragile state to getting back on my feet is a testament to the exceptional care I received there.

Based on my experience, I would absolutely recommend The Grove at the Lake to anyone needing rehabilitation care. The facility not only addresses medical needs but also strongly emphasizes overall well-being and community building, which I believe is essential for a successful recovery.
